Uganda thrashed Mozambique by 10 wickets with 115 balls remaining at Nigeria Cricket Federation Oval 2 in Abuja on 24 October 2026, in the 10th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group C. Juma Miyagi was player of the match after taking 5/7 in four overs as Mozambique were bowled out for 19.
How It Unfolded
Mozambique won the toss and chose to bat, but the decision unravelled quickly. No batter reached five. Joao Hou made 4 off 7 balls and Lourenco Salomone 4 off 4, each with a single boundary, while Jose Bulele scored 3 off 8 balls and Agostinho Navicha 2 off 6. Farruque Nhaduate and Vieira Tembo were both out for nought.
Miyagi did most of the damage with figures of 4-1-7-5, including a maiden. Enock Kasaija backed him up with 4/4 from 2.2 overs, also bowling a maiden, and Alpesh Ramjani took 1/3 from his only over.
Chasing 20, Uganda needed just five deliveries. Robinson Obuya hit 16 not out off 3 balls with a four and two sixes, and Raghav Dhawan added 7 not out off 2 balls, including a six. Uganda finished on 23/0 after 0.5 overs. Tembo, the only Mozambique bowler used, conceded 23 runs from those five balls.
The win followed Uganda's 10-wicket victory with 110 balls to spare in the 9th match, and earlier wins by 87 runs in the 1st match and by five wickets in the 5th. Mozambique's win in this group came in the 4th match, by 28 runs.
