The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka, scheduled for 13 December 2026, has been moved from Delhi to Visakhapatnam, BCCI announced in a media advisory on 5 November 2026. The match will now be played at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
What Was Announced
BCCI said the venue change was made following a request from the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), in view of potential weather disruption and proposed renovation work at the stadium. The date and start time are unchanged.
The advisory, issued by BCCI honorary secretary Devajit Saikia, set out the full schedule for Sri Lanka's tour of India:
- 1st ODI: Sunday 13 December 2026, 2:00 PM, Visakhapatnam
- 2nd ODI: Wednesday 16 December 2026, 2:00 PM, Bengaluru
- 3rd ODI: Saturday 19 December 2026, 2:00 PM, Ahmedabad
- 1st T20I: Tuesday 22 December 2026, 7:00 PM, Rajkot
- 2nd T20I: Thursday 24 December 2026, 7:00 PM, Cuttack
- 3rd T20I: Sunday 27 December 2026, 7:00 PM, Pune
What It Means
The tour consists of three ODIs followed by three T20Is, all in December. Only the opening ODI is affected by the change; the other five matches stay at their listed venues in Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune.
Delhi no longer hosts a match on the tour, and the series now opens in Visakhapatnam on 13 December, with the white-ball programme running until the third T20I in Pune on 27 December.
The CricMind Oracle's calls for the series will appear on the predictions page once the fixtures are locked.
