Gambia edged Lesotho by three runs in the 13th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group C at the Nigeria Cricket Federation Oval 1 in Abuja on 25 October 2026. Defending only 112/9, Gambia bowled Lesotho out for 109 in 19.5 overs, with Aniru Conteh taking 4/24.
How It Unfolded
Gambia won the toss and chose to bat. Abubacarr Kuyateh top-scored with 29 off 33 balls before he was out lbw, and Musa Jobarteh added a brisk 20 off 13 balls with two fours and a six. Nobody else passed 10 as Lesotho's bowlers kept the total down. Mohmed Duvesh Patel was the pick of the attack with 4/18 from his four overs, Lefulere Monanthane took 2/17 and Inshaf Farook gave away only 13 runs in four overs for his wicket.
The chase of 113 never flowed. Chachole Tlali made 15 off 21 balls and Lebona Leokaoke 10 off 23. Farook kept Lesotho in the contest with 35 not out off 27 balls, including two fours and two sixes, but he ran out of partners. Conteh's four wickets were backed by Andre Jarju, who took 2/11 in four overs, and David Demba with 1/12. Three Lesotho batters were run out, Patel among them for 9.
The Oracle's Call
The CricMind Oracle locked Gambia at 53% and Lesotho at 47% before the toss, and the narrow pick proved correct. Gambia went into the match having lost each of their last five games in the Oracle's form guide. The reasoning is in the full Oracle call.
