Uganda beat Lesotho by five wickets with 45 balls remaining in the 5th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group C at the Nigeria Cricket Federation Oval 2 in Abuja on 21 October 2026. Kenneth Waiswa was named player of the match after taking 4/18 from his four overs as Lesotho made just 87.
How It Unfolded
Lesotho won the toss and chose to bat, but only Maaz Khan found any rhythm. He struck four sixes and a four in his 38 off 32 balls, and Lerotholi Gabriel added 14 off 11 balls. No one else reached double figures: Inshaf Farook made 8 off 19 balls, while Mohmed Duvesh Patel and Gladwin Thamae made 7 each. Waiswa's 4/18 did the most damage, with Enock Kasaija taking 2/12 from 3.3 overs and Riazat Ali Shah and Pius Oloka one wicket each.
Uganda needed 88 and went after the target. Riazat Ali Shah hit three sixes in his 26 off 15 balls and Olipa Gerald made 20 off 11 balls with two sixes. Ts'episo Chaoana gave Lesotho some hope with 3/13 from four overs, but Sumeet Verma, 20 not out off 22 balls, and Alpesh Ramjani, 11 not out, saw Uganda home at 89/5 in 12.3 overs.
