How the Oracle works
How does CricMind predict cricket matches?
The CricMind Oracle rates every international and franchise side from 15,000+ completed matches — strength (an Elo rating with home advantage), recent form and head-to-head — and combines them with a model fitted per format. It was validated on 4,220 matches it never trained on, picking the winner 66.6% of the time.
When is a prediction locked?
Every prediction is locked 48 hours before the scheduled start and can never be edited afterwards — the database rejects any change. Before that, a provisional view updates as new results come in. Only locked calls count toward the public accuracy record.
Why is there no prediction for some matches?
The Oracle only predicts when both sides have at least 10 recent matches in that format in our ball-by-ball archive. Where the data is too thin we say so rather than publish a guess.
Can I use these predictions for betting?
No. CricMind predictions are for entertainment and analysis only and must not be used for betting or wagering.
For entertainment and analysis only — not for betting. Match data: Cricsheet ball-by-ball archive · fixtures: ESPN · T20Is, ODIs and Tests rated separately for men and women.
